Question 4′-Methylpropiophenone $$$

A few days ago, I purchased 100ml of 4′-Methylpropiophenone for approximately $100. However, today, I learned from a friend that the price for 1 liter of 4′-Methylpropiophenone in Russia is around $210. I'm curious to know from experts why there is such a significant price difference.

I guess there is such price for a bulk. Nevertheless, you bought for extremely height price. 100 ml for 100$ - sounds like a joke. There are ads with prices 50-80$/L on BB Forum.

I have doubts that there is significant difference. Nevertheless, you always can purify your precursors by yourself without problems.

Do you have a company building to get it delivered to? since official vendors seem to be picky..

Your 100ml bottle is from Sigma-Aldrich, one of the most expensive providers of chemicals in the world. They mainly deal with academic researchers who are spending someone else's money. Also, it comes with documentation and reputation which is what you are paying for. There is no reason that China could not produce similar quality of such a simple compound at 1/10 or less the price. Many times there is not much difference in quality between grades for our purposes.
