Question Methylamine Fumes

Hello, two questions.
1. how toxic methylamine fumes are? is mask and PP+PE suit enought?
2. i want to do my methylamine reaction into growbox, is methylamine fumes ok with growbox material? also if it okay to use carbon filter for methylamine?

My load of methylamin 40% aq came into a Silver Plastic bag and all the silver coating dissolved from Fumes going thru the closed lit. So i think your growbox will die at the time.

I handled methylamin just in open air, so i cant say anything about Toxizity in smal rooms.

MeNH2 is unhealthy for sure, alone it being a strong base makes it attack tissue, these Amines were used as disinfectants, kill germs and not only those. And in lower concentrations it still stinks to high heaven but it will not seriously damage you, but its nauseating and badly so. Closed reaction setup, solutions handled cold and any stink is easily removed by using a spraybottle with a diluted citric acid solution. Spray, spray spray - dead fish gone, hello lemons!
