This account is named after Ignaz Semmelweis, an incredibly talented Hungarian physician who was the first to discover that washing your hands before delivering a baby results in a lower death rate for mothers from *****bed fever. He suggested Chlorine Washing, which is a method for cleaning still used to this day. He originally thought that all disease came as a result of uncleanliness, which is wrong, but his ideas were adapted by Louis Pasteur in his theoretical explanation for Semmelweis' observations: the germ theory of disease. This forms that basis of medicine today.
