Question How to change the carboxyl group of phenylalanine to methyl group

It's a good news bad news scenario... The bad one is that exactly phenylalanine and the other AAA's are difficult to undergo that transformation (maybe primary alcohol can be obtained in theory with LAH, but hydroxymethyl group is not of interest to you as I imagine). The good news is that the guy I remember asking me this exact question as a result of his very own cognition became one of the most competent chemist I ever trained (chemical engineer to be most precise). Keep up the good work, you seem to ask the good questions that will result in valuable knowledge when seeking the answer. However please prove me wrong and have success reducing the carboxyl to Me, in that case you will be a star and I will be very proud to have encouraged you (this is fail safe since no one would expect you to succeed). Now I wouldn't help if I were not to ask you if nitroethane is available to you, the rest of chemicals are easier to come across.
