Any chance to check the video on youtube. It doesnt work to me or some more info about the synthesis
I've checked sth and as I know it shoud be used DCM, low (-5 to 0 Celc.degree) temp. required however the amount of AlCl3 is unknown to me. Any idea, helpfull tips

3% AlCl3 : CBD by weight.... So if you're using 100g CBD, use 3g AlCl3.

I prefer n-Heptanes to DCM... Slightly less yield but DCM is so volatile!

Also the reaction can be run even at -20C but you'll again get slightly less yield than staying within the -7C to -3C range. Past 0C and you'll start to get D8 selectivity.

So basically Rxn will not occur if solvents or Rxn mixture is too dry ?
He mentioned mass production method using HCl aq and heptane with molecular sieves before.

It seems like Hydro Chlorine can isomerise CBD into D9 under inert atmosphere and shall be the best acid for D9 selectivity.
This time he chose Aluminium Chloride for less-moisture.

AlCl3 will form HCL gas when exposed to the moisture (H2O).
Slight amount of H2O is needed to perform this reaction because it cannot release or form HCL inside Rxn.

the same logic, you can bubble dry HCL gas into CBD isolate dissolved in heptane or DCM, dried by Calcium Chloride.

Correct me, if my understanding were wrong.
