I ordered from China 2-bromovalerophenone cas: 49851-31-2
And I received another product.
Thicker than the original product, odorless and light yellow color.
This is probably a replacement.
I have no idea what to do with it.
Has anyone come across such a replacement?

The described properties are suitable for 2BV, so it is not a fact that a substitution of the substance has occurred. Try make synthesis with small amount , see what you get.

It seems like there is no response with pirrolidine Because the solution does not heat up.
In addition, the supplier said that it is a 2BV that has not undergone a reaction with bromine and that it should be cooked in a different way.
The liquid they provided was odorless at all. Can it be for the desired product?

If the reaction does not heat up, and the supplier indicates that the substance was synthesized without the use of bromine, then questions arise, even the very name of this substance speaks of bromine in its structural formula.
In some cases, it is easier to order 2BV from another supplier than to understand what was sent to you.
Or you can find valerophenone and bromine it yourself, it's a simple reaction.

Same situation. Material is more thicker and have lower density, about 0.93.
How can i identify it?
Could it be used any way?

Any ideas?

Seller sent normal batch later, with original 49851.

But thicker material is still in warehouse, i bought large batch and now doesn`t know what to do with that.
